Battery 12V FAQ

  1. What is the difference between a sealed battery and a standard battery?

Unlike flooded rechargeable batteries, sealed rechargeable batteries do not contain a liquid that will spill out if the battery breaks. Instead, sealed rechargeable batteries hold only enough liquid to allow the electrolytes to flow.

  2. Are Sealed batteries better?

Since sealed batteries are spill-proof, have better power density and good performance in cold weather than flooded batteries. Hence, only sealed batteries are used in car batteries. Among the two types of sealed batteries, the AGM type is more preferable over a gel type. And all car manufacturers use AGM batteries.

  3. Can sealed batteries be recharged?

Sealed Lead Acid batteries fall under the category of rechargeable batteries and if they are ignored, not charged after use, not charged properly or have reached the end of their intended life span, they are done. If it’s completely dead, it’s gone and you need to find a replacement.
